Kyokushin
Under the WKO knockdown rules, a bout is decided by downing the opponent: ippon is a technique that vigorously puts them on the floor for more than three seconds, and a hand or elbow to the face or neck is a foul — the WKO/AKO wording adds that even a slight touch may bring hansoku. So the punch goes to the body, the kick goes anywhere from thigh to head, and the exchange does not stop for scoring. What that produces is a fighter who can stand at short range, take a punch to the ribs without gloves and answer with a low kick, for minutes at a time.
